Operation Handbrake has returned to area, and enforcement is already having an impact.
So far, over 160 bikes have been seized from the greenspaces and streets surrounding Wigan and Leigh.
This weekend alone, officers seized:
-2 e‑bikes with recorded speeds in excess of 45mph
-1 off‑road bike
We will continue to be out throughout the week and at weekends.
Our message is simple:
Anti‑social riding will not be tolerated.
There are two designated sites in Wigan where riders can ride legally and safely — use them.
We urge members of the public to continue reporting incidents so we can take action and keep our communities safe.
